Welcome to the Southeast District 4-H home page. Here you will find information about the District 4-H Events and Activities along with other happenings in the district.
4-H Share-the-Fun
The District 4-H Share-the-Fun Contest is the elimination contest for county winners. The contest is composed of individual acts, small group acts and large group acts. The district winners perform at State 4-H Round-Up at the closing assembly.
Omniplex
The Omniplex lock-in is an annual event that is open to 9-12 year olds as of January 1, 2008. Click here for more information
Horsemanship Clinic
The District Horsemanship is an educational program for parents and youth interested in learning more about horsemanship, showmanship, and other facets of the 4-H Horse project.
Speech Contest
The District Speech Contest is open to youth 9-19. Catgeories include Power Point, Extemporaneous, Famous People Contest, llustrated Talks and Demonstrations. You do not have to be a county winner to enter the contest. Medallions are awarded to winners in various categories.
Shooting Sports Contest
The Shooting Sports Contests are held in April and May. The Air Rifle and Archery contest are held in McAlester at the McAlester Expo Center and the Shotgun Contest is held in Ada at the Ada Trap and Skeet Club.
Horse Show
The Disrict 4-H Horse Show is open to members 9-19 on May 1st, current year. It is held in Ardmore at the Hardy Murphy Colsieum. This is a two day show held in June with Speed events ran on the first day and Performance and Halter classes held on the second day.
Animal Science Field Day
The District Animal Science Field Day is open to all youth 9-19, parents and leaders. It's primary focus is to teach youth more about the animal nutrition, feeds, ethics, equipment I.D., Animal Health, etc.
Leaders Conference
The District Leaders Conference is an educational program that gives volunteers, parents, teens the opportunity to attend workhsops and programs to help them back at the local and county level.
4-H Leadership Conference
The District 4-H Leadership is open to youth 13 years and older. It is held annually at various locations of the district. The program consist of speakers, workshops, district and state officer candidate speeches, dances and social interaction.
Horse Judging Clinic and Contest
The District Horse Judging Clinic is open to all youth 9-19, leaders and parents. It is held to educate youth in evaluating horse conformation and perfomance as well as developement and delivery of oral reasons.
